Hollow Trees Farm also host a number of seasonal events plus a full programme of agricultural education to visiting schools and groups.

Farm Shop

This combination of being a busy working farm that is also open to the public means that clear communication across different areas of the farm is essential. This has been particularly important over the past year with the farm shop remaining open via a click and collect service which required co-ordination between various departments.

When talking to Sally from Hollow Trees Farm, she explained that previously Radios were only hired in for events, but realising the heightened importance of radio communication throughout the grounds they decided to invest in their own fleet.

Deciding on the Motorola DP1400s, the licenced radios ensure a wider range for the site, superior audio quality, outstanding coverage, long-lasting battery life and more. Along with increased security across the private channels for staff to talk in confidence across the farm.

The radios have helped keep the farm operational during the pandemic and also allowed them to safely reopen the farm and Café to the public. Sally explained:

“We have a big site and need to be able to contact each other quickly at times. Communication is key so being able to contact all areas has been big help. It’s been particularly helpful during COVID in that we can talk and pass on phone messages etc. without physically going into other department’s areas or their team bubbles.”

As well as helping with the day to day running of the farm the radios also continue to prove useful during events including the annual Santa’s Grotto where the radios ensured “Santa was able to keep in contact with his Elves which was essential!”

Asking Sally how she found the buying experience from Radio Solutions, she said that the service was “Very good, quick and easy!”.
